IPL's newest team, Kochi Tuskers Kerala, has 10 points from 11 matches and Kings XI Punjab has eight points from the ten games in the IPL 4. Both teams are standing at sixth and ninth spots respectively in the points table of the IPL. From this stage on both teams need to win all the remaining matches of the ongoing Indian Premier League 2011 to keep alive their chances in the tournament to make it to the last four stage.
In the last games of the IPL 2011, Punjab team has lost four games against Kolkata Knight Riders, Mumbai Indians, Royal Challengers Bangalore and Pune Warriors, whereas won against Mumbai Indians by 76 runs.
